- an amusing though absurd dialogue between mummy arriving from Cairo and an official welcoming him to Paris
- the madame attempts to explain to the mummy of Rameses II that he must be restored in order to prevent deterioration of the corpus, the mummy produces incomprehensible sounds in answer
- the mummy gets increasingly discomforted by the idea of restoring and attempts to commit suicide whereupon the madame is forced to use violence to save him
